A mass shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade has left one person dead and more than a dozen injured.

Multiple shots were fired near Union Station were thousands of fans had gathered to cheer on the Chiefs who defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in this past Sunday’s Super Bowl to win back-to-back titles.

The parade was coming to a close when the shots were fired.

Initially the Kansas City Police Department confirmed that at least 10 people had been shot near a garage just a block from Union Station.

Reports are as many as 13-15 people have been injured, with at least one person having been pronounced dead. Authorities have detained at least two people that they believe are connected to the shooting.

No Chiefs players or personnel were injured in the shooting and the incident appears to be contained to the area around Union Station.
