Former Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman said he felt confident that he would be drafted during interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine, but after seven rounds and pick 257 came and went, Hartman failed to find a home. Then the Washington Commanders signed the un-drafted free agent to a base contract of $245,000 with a $20,000 signing bonus.
The Commanders have a fairly deep quarterback room, with the likes of Jake Fromm, Jeff Driskel, Marcus Mariota and of course the number two pick in this years draft Jayden Daniels. So it will be interesting to see which quarterback becomes the odd man out.
Hartman who played six seasons of college football, the first five at Wake Forest and the last at Notre Dame, finished his college career with 15,656 yards, 134 touchdowns and 49 interceptions.
