The NFL releases a statement on Wednesday’s has shooting in Kansas City

The NFL has released a statement in the wake of the mass shooting that occurred Wednesday at the end of the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade that has left more than a dozen people injured, and left one person dead.

We are deeply saddened by the senseless shooting that occurred today near the end of the rally in Kansas City for the Chiefs. Our thoughts are with the victims and everyone affected. We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of law enforcement and emergency personnel.

NFL statement

Several NFL teams have also released statements, as well as well wishes for the victims of the shooting.

The Baltimore Ravens released their own statement offering support to the victims of the shooting, as well as condemning the senseless act of violence.

Our hearts are with Chiefs Kingdom following the tragic events and shocking violence that occurred during today’s parade in Kansas City. On a day meant for uniting people in joy and celebrating love, we send our full support to every citizen of the region and each member of the Chiefs organization . . . affected by this senseless tragedy.”

Many other NFL teams have expressed their thoughts through official statements or posts on social media.

Kansas City Police are continuing to investigate the shooting. So far two suspects have been arrested, in what police say was an argument between several fans that led to the violence.
