This week’s power rankings see a few teams starting to separate themselves as true early season playoff contenders. A few teams that I thought were contenders, several weeks back, now look more like pretenders. Lots of movement this week, so let’s see where things shake out.
| 1 | Philadelphia Eagles | 6-1 | Still the best team in the NFC |
| 2 | Kansas City Chiefs | 6-1 | Probably the best team in the AFC |
| 3 | San Francisco 49ers | 5-2 | Could still be the best team in the NFC |
| 4 | Baltimore Ravens | 5-2 | Did you see what they did to the Lions |
| 5 | Jacksonville Jaguars | 5-2 | Four in a row, looking for five in a row |
| 6 | Miami Dolphins | 5-2 | Well I guess they can’t beat good teams |
| 7 | Detroit Lions | 5-2 | Mama did say there would be days like last week |
| 8 | Dallas Cowboys | 4-2 | It feels like there 2-4 instead of 4-2. Weird vibes right now. |
| 9 | Seattle Seahawks | 4-2 | They are hanging in there and winning games. They’ll take it |
| 10 | Buffalo Bills | 4-3 | There’s a really good team somewhere under this mess |
| 11 | Cleveland Browns | 4-2 | The Browns QB situation is weird, but they are winning |
| 12 | Pittsburgh Steelers | 4-2 | The Steelers are the worst 4-2 team in the NFL |
| 13 | Atlanta Falcons | 4-3 | The Falcons are the worst 4-3 team in the NFL |
| 14 | Houston Texans | 3-3 | The Texans have the AFC South right where they want them |
| 15 | Cincinnati Bengals | 3-3 | A healthy Burrow equals a good Burrow and good Bengals |
| 16 | New York Jets | 3-3 | Lets face it 3-3 feels like 4-2 at this point |
| 17 | Tampa Bay Buccaners | 3-3 | They just keep dropping on this list. Drop drop drop drop |
| 18 | Minnesota Vikings | 3-4 | The Vikings are the best 3-4 team in the NFL |
| 19 | Indianapolis Colts | 3-4 | This is feeling more like a lost season for the Colts |
| 20 | Washington Commanders | 3-4 | Well it was fun while it lasted. Maybe not that much fun |
| 21 | Los Angeles Chargers | 2-4 | I thought they were supposed to be better this season? |
| 22 | Las Vegas Raiders | 3-4 | Well at least you can have fun on the strip after a loss |
| 23 | New Orleans Saints | 3-4 | Well at least you can have fun on Bourbon St.after a loss |
| 24 | Los Angeles Rams | 3-4 | Well at least you can have fun…oh never mind. |
| 25 | Tennesse Titans | 2-4 | Does anybody want to play quarterback for the Titans? |
| 26 | New England Patriots | 2-5 | So I guess that’s a no on the whole tanking thing. |
| 27 | New York Giants | 2-5 | Looking more like last year was just a fluke |
| 28 | Chicago Bears | 2-5 | The Bears need to slow down on the whole wins thing |
| 29 | Denver Broncos | 2-5 | What was Sean Payton saying again about bad coaching? |
| 30 | Green Bay Packers | 2-4 | What happened to the Packers? They have fallen off a cliff. |
| 31 | Arizona Cardinals | 1–6 | They got there one win and now it’s time to look to next year |
| 32 | Carolina Panthers | 0-6 | Nowhere to go but up. I mean in theory. |
