In a Thursday press conference Rashee Rice’s layer Royce West admitted that his client was behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Urus that caused a major crash last Sunday in North Dallas.
As many as six vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash that police believed occurred when two vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed, possibly racing each other on the at around 6:20 PM local time on a busy stretch of Interstate 75.
According the a police report, the Lamborghini lost control and hit in the inside retaining wall, then bounced back into traffic before striking several other vehicles.
The other vehicle that was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed was a Chevrolet Corvette. According to the Dallas Morning News Rice appears to be the registered owner of the Corvette and was renting or leasing the Lamborghini.
Rice’s lawyer did not state who was behind the wheel of the Corvette at the time of the accident.
The accident resulted in several minor injuries, including one person that was transported to the hospital. Though none of the injuries were reported as being life threatening.
So far no charges or arrests have been made in the case. However, under Texas law Rice could face serious charges for leaving the scene of the accident, especially an accident scene where there are reported injuries.
Rice is also likely to face discipline from the league as well, which could result in a suspension.
