It’s always fun to take a look and see what this years playoff field looks like, compared to last seasons. There are some surprises through ten weeks of the NFL season; including Houston being in and Buffalo being out. The Texans have turned heads with two rookies proving their worth. Rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans has the Texans at 5-4 and ready to make a run at the AFC South; while rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has pretty much already wrapped up Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
On the NFC side, the Detroit Lions are the toast of the NFL so far this season, as they are not only in command of the NFC North, but are staring down the Eagles for top seed. On the other side, what in the world has become of the New York Giants. The Giants were a surprise playoff team last season – in head coach Brian Daboll’s first season. This year they are one of the worst teams in football.
Here is a look at how things stand at the conclusion of last season and how they stand at the conclusion of week 10.
IN – Houston, Pittsburgh and Cleveland
OUT – Buffalo, Los Angeles Chargers, Cincinnati
IN – Detroit and New Orleans
OUT – Tampa Bay and New York Giants
