As most people know by now, the Bills and Steelers game, which was supposed to be played today at 1:00 PM/E, was instead postponed due to weather. It has been moved to Monday afternoon, and is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM/E, according to league sources.
A travel ban was put into effect at 9:00 PM/E last night and with heavy snow and extremely treacherous conditions forecasted overnight and well into the original game time of Sunday afternoon, the wise decision was made to move the game to Monday.
The question now becomes just what will the weather look like on Monday. Well it’s still going to be cold. Forecasts call for the temperature to be right around 16 degrees at the start of the game and hold fairly steady throughout. The wind chill will still make it feel like it’s close to zero degrees, but the good news is that the wind will not be nearly as intense as it is expected to be on Sunday.
Sunday called for winds between 30 & 50 mph, with gusts approaching near gale force conditions. Things won’t be that bad on Monday, as winds are expected to settle around 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. That’s not great, but nonetheless better.
It is not expected to be snowing at game time, so the field should be clear of snow.
It is still going to be a chore getting to and from the stadium though, as forecasts calls for as much as around 4 feet of snow to have accumulated on the roads by the time the game starts on Monday.
