The Miami Dolphins loss is apparently the Philadelphia Eagles gain.
After the Dolphins and Fangio could not come to a long term agreement after their season ended in the wild card round of the playoffs, the team announced that Fangio would be leaving the organization. Fangio was hired last February to take over the defense in Miami.
Fangio didn’t have to wait long to see his services availed by a new suitor, and it’s a familiar suitor at that. Fangio is returning to Philadelphia, not in an advisory role as he did in 2022, but rather to take over as the team’s defensive coordinator.
The Eagles defense fell part down the stretch this season, after being a big contributing reason for getting them to the Super Bowl last season.
Philly is hoping that Fangio will be the missing link to get their defense back on track.
