Week 13 – Power Rankings

By | Published | No Comments

There are just six weeks left of the NFL regular season and we can now start to see just which teams are truly starting to separate themselves from the pack. The Eagles may have struggled for most of the game against the Bills, but they just find a way to beat you when the game is on the line. That to me makes the Eagles the best team in the NFL right now. The 49ers though are making it interesting and now have the leagues top offense, to go along with the leagues top defense. That could be the dagger for the NFC come playoff time.

The AFC continues to be as hard to figure out here in week 13 as it was way back in week 3. There are lots of really good teams all bunched together. The Ravens have all the makings of a true contender, but they are not as battle tested in the playoffs recently as the Chiefs. Then again the Chiefs have never had to go on the road in the playoffs, since Mahomes assumed the starting role and that could change this season. I have no idea what to make of the rest of the field. Miami and Jacksonville seem like they could crash the party, if they can just get there.

Anyway here is how things stack up going into the final stretch of the regular season.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) – Even when they play bad they still win.
  2. San Francisco (8-3) – They have quietly assumed the leagues top offense. Uh oh.
  3. Baltimore Ravens (9-3) – That defense is peaking at the right time.
  4. Dallas Cowboys (8-3) – We will judge them by what they do in January, as always.
  5. Miami Dolphins (8-3) – The Dolphins have slid down to third in offense, but the defense is rising.
  6. Kansas City Chiefs (8-3) – The Chiefs either like toying with teams or they’re just bad in the first half.
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-3) – It feels like Texans/Jaguars is the next great rivalry.
  8. Detroit Lions (8-3) – Just when you start to believe in the Lions…
  9. Cleveland Browns (7-4) – That loss to the Broncos could really sting come January.
  10. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4) – So uh, it was all Canada’s fault. Dang Canadians.
  11. Houston Texans (6-5) – CJ Stroud is a bright star burning, but the Texans still have a few dark spots.
  12. Buffalo Bills (6-6) – The Bills hope to never see another overtime game for as long as they live.
  13. Seattle Seahawks (6-5) – It’s starting to look like the honeymoon is over for Geno Smith.
  14. Minnesota Vikings (6-6) – Joshua Dobbs has a lot of heart, but there is a reason he was waived by Arizona.
  15. Denver Broncos (6-5) – You know if the Broncos somehow make the playoffs, they could ruin somebodies dreams.
  16. Indianapolis Colts (6-5) – Garner Minshew just wins. Well most of the time. Ok some of the time.
  17. Atlanta Falcons (5-6) – They are leading the NFC South. The NFC South send it’s regards to the rest of the league.
  18. Green Bay Packers (5-6) – They could still make a run if Jordan Love can continue to make a run.
  19. Cincinnati Bengals (5-6) – When you lose Joe Burrow, you realize you are just the Bengals,
  20. New Orleans Saints (5-6) – That loss really stung and so did Derek Carr’s performance.
  21. Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) –  They are who we thought they were.
  22. Los Angeles Rams (5-6) – Well they woke up Sunday and just decided to whoop somebodies ass. Didn’t they!
  23. Tennessee Titans (4-7) – The Titans are latest to take advantage of the NFL’s closest version to a college football team (Panthers).
  24. Los Angles Chargers (4-7) – That should just about do it for Staley.
  25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7) – Baker Mayfield reclamation project has hit a snag.
  26. Washington Commanders (4-8) – They fired Jack Del Rio, but who’s next.
  27. New York Jets (4-7) – Aaron Rodgers or no Aaron Rodgers, these Jets are going nowhere.
  28. New York Giants (4-8) – Danny DeVito’s son is not as bad as I thought.
  29. Chicago Bears (4-8) – Justin Field’s may have won the game, but I suspect he is losing the war.
  30. Arizona Cardinals (2-10) – Are we back to tanking now. I mean just tell me.
  31. New England Patriots (2-9) – Did Mac Jones ruin Belichick or did Belichick ruin Mac Jones. We may never know.
  32. Carolina Panthers (1-10) – Tepper is slowing running out of patience and people to fire.
